Parent Information Night and Player Evaluations

Thank you for your interest in the Jr. Hilltoppers Basketball Program.  We are very much looking forward to the opportunity to coach your son in basketball this season and to welcome you to the Marquette High community.

We will be holding two separate Parent Information Nights to provide more information about the basketball program on Thursday, September 6th at 7:45 pm and on Sunday, September 9th at 4:30 pm in the O’Rourke Performing Arts Hall at MUHS.  Given the number of people interested in the basketball program, we ask that at least one parent or guardian from each family please attend one of the two sessions.  The same information will be presented at each session, so it is not necessary to attend both.  It is also not necessary to RSVP for Parent Information Night, though we will be tracking who has attended each session.  Players may, but need not, attend Parent Information Night with their parent/guardian.  If you are certain of your desire and commitment to participate in the Jr. Hilltoppers Basketball Program, we will take registrations and player deposits (via check) at Parent Information Night.

Player Evaluations will be conducted in the MUHS Gym on the following dates:  Monday, September 10th from 7:15 – 8:15 pm for 5th grade boys; Monday, September 10th from 8:30 – 9:30 pm for 7th grade boys; and on Tuesday, September 11th from 7:15 – 8:15 pm for 6th grade boys; Tuesday, September 11th from 8:30 – 9:30 pm for 8th grade boys.  Please note that Jr. Hilltoppers Basketball is a no cut sport.

Please note that if you are a 5th grade boy and are unable to attend your designated evaluation session for 5th graders, we ask that you please attend the session designated for 6th graders.  If you are a 6th grade boy and are unable to attend your designated evaluation session for 6thgraders, we ask that you please attend the session designated for 5th graders.  If you are a 7th grade boy and are unable to attend your designated evaluation session for 7th graders, we ask that you please attend the session designated for 8th graders.  Finally, if you are an 8th grade boy and are unable to attend your designated evaluation session for 8th graders, we ask that you please attend the session designated for 7th graders.

During the Player Evaluations, parents are asked to remain outside of the MUHS Gym.  Immediately after the Players Evaluations, players will be asked to try on uniforms in order to determine their correct jersey and short sizes (failure to do so may result in an incorrect uniform size for your son, a delay in getting him his correct size, and a double uniform charge to you).  Registration Forms and Player Deposits will be due no later than at the Player Evaluations.

We look forward to seeing you at the Parent Information Night and to your son’s participation in Jr. Hilltoppers Basketball!
